Q. Why does my soy candle look slightly frosty or uneven on top?

A. This is a completely natural characteristic of 100% natural soy wax known as “frosting” or “shrinkage.” It occurs when the wax cools and crystallizes. It does not affect the burn quality, scent throw, or safety of your candle in any way—in fact, it is proof that your candle is genuinely plant-based and free from synthetic paraffin additives!

Q. What is “tunneling” and how do I prevent it?

A. Tunneling happens when a candle burns straight down the center, leaving a ring of hard wax around the edges. To prevent this, ensure that your candle’s very first burn lasts between 2 to 4 hours, or until the melted wax pool reaches all the way to the glass edges. Wax has a “memory,” so establishing a full melt pool on the first burn ensures an even burn for the rest of its life.

Q. Why do I need to trim the wick?

A. You should trim your wick to around 5mm (1/4 inch) before every single burn. Trimming prevents the flame from getting too large, stops the wick from “mushrooming” (forming a carbon buildup), and completely eliminates soot or black smoke, keeping your jar and your air clean.

Q. Can I reuse my candle glass jar?

A. Absolutely! Once about 10mm of wax remains at the bottom, stop burning the candle. Wash the jar out safely with warm, soapy water to remove the leftover wax and the wick base. You can reuse it as a plant pot, a makeup brush holder, or stationery storage. Please do not pour melted wax down your sink drain.

Q. How do I safely use my wax melts?

A. Snap off one or two cubes of your wax melt and place them into the well of your burner. If using a traditional tea-light burner, only use an unscented 4-hour tea light. Never leave a burning flame unattended, and do not add water to the melting wax. Once the scent fades, let the wax cool and harden, pop it out, and replace it.
